THOR Chuan Leong is a step away from lifting his first National Snooker Championship title after beating Jimmy Teo 5-1 in their semi-final match at the A-Que Centre in Bandar Sunway yesterday.
The second-seeded Chuan Leong, was in commanding form winning 45-2, 53-75, 69-13, 77-13, 73-2, 58-20 in the best-of-11 frames match.
In the other semi-final, Mohamad Reza, the third seed, upset reigning Sea Games gold medallist Moh Keen Ho, the top seed, 5-3 (73-12, 59-9, 26-91, 65-25, 56-66, 12-74, 86-37, 66-61) in a thrilling match.
Chuan Leong and Mohamad Reza were playing for the national title in a late final yesterday.
