It has been a lonely journey for national cue artist Thor Chuan Leong.
With his last major assignment being the Korat Sea Games last year, Chuan Leong is hoping to make a timely break in the Platinum Ball Master Championship at the Platinum Snooker Centre in Cheras which starts on Friday.
“It’s been rather quiet. The last I played was in a tournament in Singapore and that too I lost 4-2 in the quarter-final against my teammate John Loh,” said Chuan Leong when met at the National Sports Council.
“Sometimes it gets rather boring training all alone with most of my teammates busy with other tournaments. I really hope to give a good show in this championship.”
Chuan Leong was spotted during the XZ Tour Series two years ago while he was playing with Klang based Ace Snooker.
The 20-year-old joins former Asian junior champion Moh Keen Hoo, former Asian champion Sam Chong, Lai Chee Wei and Thean Mun Kit in the tournament.
The champion is set to pocket RM5,000 in cash while the runner-up will receive RM2,500 in the event which is sanctioned by the Malaysian Snooker and Billiards Federation.(MSBF)

Too bad for Thor Chuan Leong who just got fired this morning by MSBF/MSN . i wonder how is he going to do well in this coming Platinum Ball Snooker Master Championship with all the problems he has in his mind now? now he need my help to find a job and a place to stay before the 14th October 2008 . MSBF/MSN wants him to move out /kicking him out on the date which he suppose to be playing in this tournament … How can that be ? MSBF/MSN (Majlis Sukan Negara) should be more reasonable and at least wait till he finish the tournament first . Right ? I Wonder is this how MSN/MSBF support Malaysian sportsmen
