Moh Keen Hoe was introduced to snooker around the age of 8 when he was barely as tall as a snooker table.
But that did not stop him from playing snooker , and as he grew up so did his thirst for the game, and was given his first lesson by his father Moh Loon Hong (Also my coach), who himself was a GREAT Malaysia national billiards and snooker player.
Moh Loon Hoong is best remembered as a double Sea Games gold medallist in billiards in the 1991 Manila and 1995 Chiangmai Games.
Being a son of a former national player, it was very difficult for Moh Keen Hoe to come to terms with the legacy of his father as many people were comparing him with his dad.
However, Moh Keen Hoe looked at it as a challenge and has been successful so far in creating his own name in the sport of snooker . His most memorable win thus far was runner up of the Asian Junior Snooker Championship 2002 Malaysia , Champion of the Asian Junior Snooker Championship in Bangkok 2003, the snooker doubles event silver medalist in the 2003 Vietnam Sea Games, Gold medalist in the 2007 Korat Thailand sea games single snooker event ,3rd placing in the Asian Snooker Championship 2007 Dubai, runner up in the Hainsworth Invitational Snooker Championship 2008 Singapore and even a runner up of this years Malaysia’s 1st national 9 ball pool champioship 2008.
The current Malaysia number 1 snooker player’s little sister Moh Chaw Teng is also now under the MSN Ladies pool training program. she has been participating in a few international pool tournament overseas this year with some impressive result. she also comes to my place , snooker arena once awhile when she is on holiday to look for me to coach her and touch up her competitive game error.
Moh Keen Hoo is also seeded number 1 in the coming Platinum Ball Master Snooker Championship (Malaysia) 2008 starting on the 10th October – 19th October 2008 .His father Moh Loon hong is also seeded at number 6 in this snooker championship. 4 snooker players included a female player from Hong Kong is also participating in this snooker event. Mr. Fun Kok Wai, Mr. Au Chi Wai , Miss So Man Yan and Mr. Chan Wai Ki who made a 147 break at the Century Break Snooker Center Open Championship 2005.Penang.Malaysia 3 years ago.
All the best to Moh Keen Hoo and his father Mr. Moh Loon Hong
