UNSANCTIONED EVENTS & COMPETITIONS UNDER MSBF’S JURISDICTION

It has been a long established policy of this MSBF(MALAYSIA SNOOKER AND BILLIARDS FEDERATION) that, unless events/competitions organized by both local and overseas bodies are sanctioned by MSBF, all National Squad players are prohibited to take part therein without the prior consent of the MSBF.

National Squad players are defined as players who are presently accredited to represent Malaysia by the MSBF; they are inclusive of all players who had in the past represented Malaysia in competitions approved by the MSBF. Any such players, present and past, who shall participate in any unsanctioned competitions will be debarred from National representation in any future events/competitions.

Overseas participants for such unsanctioned events/competitions shall be taking part at their own risk. And the MSBF shall not be held responsible for any consequences arising therefrom under whatever circumstances.

Under s.33 of the Sports Development Act 1997, no such event can be staged without the prior application/approval of the Minister through the Sports Commissioner, Malaysia.

‘s.33 No person shall bid to host any international sports competition or event in Malaysia without the prior approval in writing of the Minister whose decision thereon will be final’

This Circular issued with intent to alert those concerned for strict observance of the Sports Development Act under reference.
